If I hold down the Shift, Control, or ALT keys while I move the mouse around in the console, it will cause the mouse driver to simply stop working. The pointer will disappear, and further attempts to get the mouse working fail. I have CVSup'ed to 4.3-beta as of about 3 hours ago, and the problem still exists. The machine in question now, is an IBM Aptiva. 550 Mhz Athlon, 96M ram, 20GB hard drive, Number 9 SR9 video with 8M, ESS Solo-1 for the sound, and a Netgear FA311 10/100 NIC. The mouse is a Fellowes 3-button device with scrolling wheel (Button-2 events are triggered by pushing the wheel down into the mouse. I don't know what events the rolling motion of the wheel generates). On talking to another user, a similar problem occurs for him, to the extent that the mouse pointer continues to move around, but he can no longer highlight/select text for the cut&paste operation once the bug strikes. For me, the mouse pointer disappears entirely, for good. I have to restart my machine (see the other bug, below) to recover mouse operation. Also, On a related note, killall -HUP moused will cause the mouse to go completely bonkers, inserting junk into the console when I move it around. I've experienced this problem since somewhere around 4.1-Release, and it has occurred on three completely different boxes, with three different mice (all are PS/2 mice). -- ___________________________________ _____ _____ | _///@@@| | | natedac@kscable.com /'//ZZ@@|____ | | |'''/ |'/@7 | | http://home.kscable.com/natedac |`'| `~~' | | | `| .--. | | C64/C128 - What's *YOUR* hobby? | `\____|___\ | | \_ | | |___________________________________ \_____| _____| To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-bugs" in the body of the message
