Hello, I have upgraded to 2.2.6 and had to rm * the entire disk as the cvsupit caused /usr to go to 108%. But then that may be my problem for not knowing all the ins and outs of upgrading. To the problem at hand. I did have a running 2.2.5 which I received via ftp. I have had no problems with ppp after reading the handbook and some other sources from FreeBSD. With 2.2.6 this seems to have changed. I can't get a PPP connection but get a ppp connection which is obviously useless. I have not changed ISP's nor have I changed what I put in for the settings for ppp. I have tried using 10.0.0.1/0 as my IP address along with 0 as the ISP's address. When I do connect, I see the send and read lights of the modem (USR 56K) going very fast together. I do not have any idea as to what the cause is. I have tried using "set authname" and "set authkey" with their true setting. All but for no luck. As I have said above, I had no problem in text mode to do, ppp, dial (isp name) as I had a working ppp.conf and ppp.linkup, to get a full PPP connection. Hope someone here can help me out Thanks in advance for any help which you may be able to offer Lanny Baron To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
