I've set my umask for bash, which works great when I'm in a terminal, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on X apps (such as the Mozilla downloader, for example, or when I create new files with Code Crusader) Files are created rw-------, which is pretty restrictive when working on the server (something like rw-rw---- would be more appropriate - it's what I have the umask set to in bash) Is there a way to globally set the umask for all X apps? It's very easy to forget and the other members of my team keep chewing me out. I tried calling the umask command from my .xinitrc file, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. -Bill _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 3 months FREE*. http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail&xAPID=42&PS=47575&PI=7324&DI=7474&SU= http://www.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/getmsg&HL=1216hotmailtaglines_stopmorespam_3mf To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
