since upgrading to 4.4-R, i have not been able to run top(1). the helpful
folks on EFnet #FreeBSDhelp asked me a few questions, but were unable to
solve my problem, so now i turn to the mailing lists...
top(1) worked earlier this morning when i was still at 4.3-RELEASE-p17,
but now...
# top
kvm_open: /dev/mem: Operation not permitted
#
because this info might be helpful in solving the problem...
# id
uid=0(root) gid=0(wheel) groups=0(wheel), 2(kmem), 3(sys), 4(tty), 5(operator), 20(staff), 31(guest)
# uname -a

# ls -al /usr/bin/top

any guesses as to what caused this or what i can do to fix it? if any
more info is needed, please let me know.
