Hi,

When I boot anything which uses sockets will not run, this includes syslogd
(but -s-s makes i work) and simple things like ftp. The error it reports is:

  "servname not supported for ai_socktype"

That error is given by ftp, and syslogd when in debug mode. What would cause
this error, its a fairly standard install on a latptop with a dlink network
card which I have had working on this machine in the past (before several
fdisks and months later)
