I have a Compaq ProLiant DL380 with dual P3 1.4 Gig cpu's, on the motherboard there is two fxp interfaces and on a pci card there is another two fxp interfaces. FreeBSD-4.8-RELEASE is installed and when I compile SMP support in the kernel, then I get this error message on the console : fxp2: device timeout fxp3: device timeout fxp0 and fxp1 are working 100 % FreeBSD vpn-test.uib.no 4.8-STABLE FreeBSD 4.8-STABLE #8: Fri Apr 11 15:13:26 CEST 2003 pciconf - lv : fxp0@pci0:2:0: class=0x020000 card=0xb1340e11 chip=0x12298086 rev=0x08 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Intel Corporation' device = '82557/8/9 EtherExpress PRO/100(B) Ethernet Adapter' class = network subclass = ethernet fxp1@pci0:4:0: class=0x020000 card=0xb1340e11 chip=0x12298086 rev=0x08 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Intel Corporation' device = '82557/8/9 EtherExpress PRO/100(B) Ethernet Adapter' class = network subclass = ethernet fxp2@pci8:4:0: class=0x020000 card=0x10f08086 chip=0x12298086 rev=0x05 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Intel Corporation' device = '82557/8/9 EtherExpress PRO/100(B) Ethernet Adapter' class = network subclass = ethernet fxp3@pci8:5:0: class=0x020000 card=0x10f08086 chip=0x12298086 rev=0x05 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Intel Corporation' device = '82557/8/9 EtherExpress PRO/100(B) Ethernet Adapter' class = network subclass = ethernet dmesg -a : fxp0: port 0x2400-0x243f mem 0xf2a00000-0xf2afffff,0xf2bb0 000-0xf2bb0fff irq 3 at device 2.0 on pci0 fxp0: Ethernet address 00:08:02:fd:5f:e9 fxp1: port 0x2440-0x247f mem 0xf2800000-0xf28fffff,0xf29f0 000-0xf29f0fff irq 5 at device 4.0 on pci0 fxp1: Ethernet address 00:08:02:fd:5f:e8 fxp2: port 0x5000-0x501f mem 0xf7f00000-0xf7ffffff,0xf6cf0 000-0xf6cf0fff irq 15 at device 4.0 on pci8 fxp2: Ethernet address 00:90:27:fc:27:cc fxp3: port 0x5020-0x503f mem 0xf7e00000-0xf7efffff,0xf6ce0 000-0xf6ce0fff irq 15 at device 5.0 on pci8 fxp3: Ethernet address 00:90:27:fc:27:cd I have sent a "send-pr" but, never got any rely back, maybe I typed somethin wrong ? Compiling the kernel without SMP support, then fxp2 & fxp3 is working 100% !
