Hi all.... <First a quick flashback....> I installed FreeBSD about 5 months ago, from a DOS partition. That's right. I d/l'ed 300 megabytes on a 56K connection, lost a lot of hair, gnashed my teeth, and managed to get FreeBSD running. Fine...untill I realized something...I didn't have any packages, and my DOS partition was full. *Fast forward to last week* I got 'The Complete FreeBSD' in the mail and proceeded to pop the disc in to install my much needed software...except...FreeBSD did not detect my CD-ROM drive... </flashback> Now, I've tried a number of things, but by looking at the bootup messages, it appears that FreeBSD does not detect my secondary IDE controller. I've tried setting UserConfig to probe for it (wdc1), but it does not work. I've got a ABIT BH6 board, with an LG 32X CDROM. Any Ideas why? I can access my CDROM in windows.... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -=-= Many an ancient lord's last words had been, "You can't kill me because I've got magic aaargh." -- Magic armour is not all it's cracked up to be.
