When upgrading from 5.2.1 to 5.3 (building into new partition) I had to add the entries by hand. I think you just need what would be in /etc/passwd and /etc/group: bash-3.00# grep proxy /etc/passwd /etc/group /etc/passwd:proxy:*:62:62:Packet Filter pseudo-user:/nonexistent:/usr/sbin/nologin /etc/group:proxy:*:62:
