Any idea's how this can be done. Some time ago I installed a 13 GB on an old 486. I did not use LBA disk translation, just normal CHS. The BIOS thought it had a 504 MB disk, but FreeBSD 3.2 recognized the right disk geometry. You could play around with those BIOS settings and see how the disks probing routines of the kernel on the install floppies think about the geometry.
