I found another post on this: http://unix.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/FreeBSD/current/2005-05/1086.html The poster outlines 3 potential issues, including issues with NFS with an NGROUPS_MAX value above 16. I'm not sure if those are still issues (e.g. I don't use NFS), but that may be why the values have been set that way by default. I hope that thread helps! Sincerely, -Parker
