Has anyone else attempted this? Does anyone have patches to make it work? I would be happy to upgrade to 3.x or 4.x, but the target is a 386 laptop with 8MB RAM and 80MB disk. I can't shrink 3.x to the point where it'll fit, and the NFS in 2.x isn't up to doing a make world (my last attempt caused the system to reboot when I did an NFS mount).
