I will be the first to suggest that there are some small number of server configurations that require some amount of hand tuning in order to get optimum performance. I think the likehood that he's doing that with a 100% stock "out of the box" config is well, 0, so he's quite free to continue to hand configure things. That said, as I mentioned the first time, I think the code to do the savings is good, and should be developed.
