There is close to no-info in this PR. The problem is certainly not caused by the drivers, otherwise we would have heard about such problem dozen of times and not only once. (Btw, my FreeBSD box has 512 MB of memory and a CD Writer connected to a 53C810A. No problems.) As we have to guess, I would suspect the BIOS (or the kernel PCI code ?) to mess up with PCI resources, especially if the hardware is a bit old.
