For (t)csh:

alias portsdb 'portsdb \!:* |& egrep -v "Warning: Duplicate INDEX"'

(that's " then ' at the end)

For (ba)sh I think it's:

alias portsdb='portsdb "$@" 2>&1 | egrep -v "Warning: Duplicate INDEX"'

This is the power of Unix.  Use it.
