I just moved my tv card from a gigabyte MB to an asus MB and had it hang very easily shortly after starting fxvt. To make it happy I had to change 3 settings in the BIOS: PCI streaming: OFF video BIOS cache: OFF vga/pci pallette snoop: OFF with these settings it has run for 3 days straight without hang. I tried different combinations of the above but with any 1 or more of them enabled it hung within several seconds to several minutes after starting fxtv. this is with: asus p55t2p4 P5-133 diamond stealth 3400 VRAM hauyppauge wincast/tv dbx ahc2940/micropolis SCSI smc 8013 ethercard boca 1008 FreeBSD 2.2.1-RELEASE #0: Mon Apr 14 12:02:32 MDT 1997 CPU: Pentium (132.95-MHz 586-class CPU) Origin = "GenuineIntel" Id = 0x52c Stepping=12 Features=0x1bf<FPU,VME,DE,PSE,TSC,MSR,MCE,CX8> real memory = 33554432 (32768K bytes) avail memory = 30236672 (29528K bytes) Probing for devices on PCI bus 0: chip0 <Intel 82439> rev 1 on pci0:0 chip1 <Intel 82371SB PCI-ISA bridge> rev 0 on pci0:7:0 chip2 <Intel 82371SB IDE interface> rev 0 on pci0:7:1 bktr0 <BrookTree 848> rev 17 int a irq 14 on pci0:9 Hauppauge WinCast/TV, Philips NTSC tuner, dbx stereo. vga0 <VGA-compatible display device> rev 0 int a irq 14 on pci0:10 ahc0 <Adaptec 2940 SCSI host adapter> rev 0 int a irq 11 on pci0:12 ... ed0 at 0x280-0x29f irq 5 maddr 0xd8000 msize 16384 on isa ed0: address 00:00:c0:e6:59:48, type WD8013EPC (16 bit) -- Steve Passe | powered by smp@csn.net | Symmetric MultiProcessor FreeBSD
