I just moved my tv card from a gigabyte MB to an asus MB and had it
hang very easily shortly after starting fxvt. To make it happy I had to change
3 settings in the BIOS:

 PCI streaming: OFF
 video BIOS cache: OFF
 vga/pci pallette snoop:	OFF

with these settings it has run for 3 days straight without hang.
I tried different combinations of the above but with any 1 or more
of them enabled it hung within several seconds to several minutes
after starting fxtv.

this is with:

  asus p55t2p4 P5-133
  diamond stealth 3400 VRAM
  hauyppauge wincast/tv dbx
  ahc2940/micropolis SCSI
  smc 8013 ethercard
