It turns out I just needed to download ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/amd64/10.1-RC3/lib32.txz untar it to / and then I could build the above port. Not sure why I didn't have lib32 already installed. I must've unchecked it during the initial 10.0 install for some reason.
