Everything works fine if I run something like realplayer under fvwm. But when I run GNOME, suddenly the sound doesn't work. I checked the Sound options in the GNOME Control Center but the 'Enable sound server startup' option is already enabled. When I start realplayer it gives the message 'Cannot open the audio device. Another application may be using it'. Does anyone know of issues regarding interaction between the GNOME libraries and the pcm driver?
