I don't know how Ulf is doing, but I am about to give up with Mylex. As I have a DAC960 with V2.xx firmware I need to adapt Ulf's driver to make it work with V2.x It seems that the programming interfaces have changed quite a bit between the various firmware revs. And older hardware rev boards are not capable of being upgraded to the new firmware revs :-( The Linux driver on the WWW is only for the newer board revs. I have had lengthy email discussions with Mylex support. They were very helpful (no complaints about that Mylex dept!) but the programming info is under NDA. And they don't want to do an NDA for an individual. I went as far as sending a fax to the Mylex marketing director (they hide their email addresses it seems...) but not a single reaction. So, in summary: I have to recommend people to avoid Mylex. They don't seem to be willing to even discuss options around free operating systems. In my book this is extremely short sighted. Not even bothering to reply to a customer question is rude in my opinion.
