No clue if the chipset is support, but it is worth a shot. Also that is why I all am picky when picking hardware. I do agree with Matze though. FreeBSD makes a truely awesome multimedia experience. I've not seen any thing as impressive as FreeBSD running fluxbox, the nvidia driver, and and xdesktopwaves. It is pleasantly and graphically pleasing from all perspectives. I use FreeBSD for everything but running a few games and it does all I need nicely.
