It's all about marketing. If computer manufacturer would hear from thousands of people with a request to Ship Computers with FreeBSD or other UNIX like systems, they would do so. Also we would see much more books and products related to UNIX. It's not "Evil" Microsoft, I would say it's PEOPLE who wants to use it. They just don't have will to learn about UNIX and using Microsoft Products is much more easier for them. IT's people , users , who make market field for MICROSOFT... Far be it for me to defend Microsoft, but I seriously doubt that they actually held a gun to the head to Dell, Packard Bell, IBM, Acer, et al, forcing them to ship their products with Windows. It does no good calling Microsoft evil when it's the computer manufacturer that sells the "take it or leave it" systems.
