I was just going to go ahead and force it as a = dependency (finally giving up). I was about to submit the patch. It = does give a useful backtrace in the case of a fatal error, but other = than that, it doesn't buy us anything. Is there a supported/suggested way for a port to check if another port = is already installed? If so, I could dynamically add the dependency if = the port is already installed and handle it as a normal option if it's = not.
