Both free, both available, both work. :) AMaViS provides the "glue" interface between several MTAs and several virus scanner. 0.2 is very easy to set up and use. The perl version is a little more difficult, but should provide better performance once up and running. http://www.amavis.org InoculateIT is not available as a native FreeBSD binary, but the Linux version works nicely. There are also versions available for Solaris, HP-UX, and AIX so there's plenty of choice for which compatibility layer you choose to use. Runs very nicely, quickly, and comes with a script to automate definition file updates via cron. ftp://ftp.ca.com/pub/getbbs/ Works beautifully on our many Linux servers and FreeBSD workstations. :) YMMV, though. PS: Feel free to forward this to the freebsd-isp@ list as the office reverse-DNS is borked right now and I cannot post directly to the lsit as a result. -- Cheers, Freddie PhoenixTek Consulting fcash@bigfoot.com Unix, Network, Security Administration (250) 314-4029 The years of peak mental activity are undoubtedly between the ages of four and eighteen.
