The left speaker is only silent under FreeBSD - very strange. One thing I meant to include in my original post but forgot to is output from /dev/sndstat: FreeBSD Audio Driver (980215) Jul 9 1998 23:18:32 Installed devices: pcm1: <SoundBlaster Pro 3.1> at 0x220 irq 5 dma 1:1 I don't know whether this is helpful or not...
