There's a problem with the ibcs2 emulator when dealing with serial terminals. http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=8414 I'd posted a patch a *VERY* long time ago, but it hasn't been integrated into the system. Attached should be an updated patch for the 4.X-STABLE. Try rebuilding the ibcs2.ko module with the patch, it should fix your problem.
