And now please stop bothering me and the people reading this = ML. BTW I thought the propper way to contact the maintainer of a Port is the = gnats system. And I never proposed a Patch. I Just wanted to send you the Information that both Ports work on python2.4 as well. I CC to this list because I think there is a discussion needed about this= =2E I don't say that you have to do the testing youself. But use the informat= ion given to you by others. As there is no testsystem in the py-qt source, so I can't be sure that everything is working correctly but as far as I see there is no problem w= ith this port on python2.4 Personaly I don't have any problems with changing my local port, but i th= ink there are many FreeBSD users out there who just using FreeBSD and the Portsystem. Setting USE_PYTON=3D2.5+ forcing them to upgrade there python= installation or maintain two versions on the system, which is not very ha= ndy with the ports system (it's not desired to have two python versions on an= system so there is no real need to support it) So I see no harm in setting USE_PYTHON=3D2.4+ and lots of gain to the pyt= hon2.4 users.
