Hmmm. I installed FreeBSD 2.2.2 on two computers *over the net* week
before last, and short of two power outages, had no problems at all.

Aha! You have too much stuff in your computer! Send me the Fireball
4.3 immediately; that will solve all your problems! ;^)

Well, actually, I don't see any problems with your hardware at all.
Other than I need the Fireball *much* more than you do! ;^)

One of the usual reasons for this happening is that ever-loving DOS
abortion called "LBA mode." Since you're installing FreeBSD on a 4.3 Gb
disk, I suspect you're probably lying to the system about the disk
geometry. Go back into your BIOS, setup the disk geometry to reflect
what the disk REALLY has, and then re-install FreeBSD. You'll need to
make sure in the slice editor that it knows the REAL geometry as well.

If this doesn't work, send me the 4.3 Gb disk. I'll send you back a
nice 1.2 Gb disk with FreeBSD pre-installed on it. ;^)
