Alternatively, you may install > x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati to get a wrapper driver. The UPDATING entry is confusing. ati used to autoload one of the radeon, r128, or mach64 drivers. It doesn't any more. At this point, ati looks to just be a synonym for radeon. At least in the xorg.conf on my 2373 T42, either Driver "ati" or Driver "radeon" works. -Warren Block * Rapid City, South Dakota USA
