And before that, random disk corruption during heavy SCSI >activity on my old desktop machine (seen with Tekram and Acer >83C575-based host adapters and a borrowed Adaptec 2940). I've had similar problems, while trying to go from 4.4-STABLE to 5.0-CURRENT a month ago, the machine couldn't finish building world, it would panic and reboot. At the third attempt, it did finish building world. Also, I tried to get it back to 4.4-STABLE (thinking it was a bug with 5.0, but also while building world for 4.4-STABLE, it crashed again). After these attempts, I reinstalled the machine from CD and afterwards it only had a very light load. Right now it's working with 4.5-PRERELEASE with no problems. This week I've been doing buildworld cycles over and over again, with make -16 buildworld and on another terminal portsdb -Uu. No crashes whatsoever :) Here's my dmesg output: Copyright (c) 1992-2001 The FreeBSD Project.
