Now I don't profess to be a guru, but I was certain there were only 5 BSD
flavours
(a)FreeBSD
(b)OpenBSD
(c)NetBSD
(d)picoBSD
(e)BSDi

Whats with this "linux BSD" ??

I don't believe its possible to "install" any recent BSD in a system with
only 8Mb RAM ....
possibly the same for the linuxes too. I know the thing "might" run when
install is finished but the question here related to initial install.
