try using top Here's a sample output: solar:/home/eclipse/chrismar/ % top load averages: 0.26, 0.55, 0.61 09:42:59 73 processes: 2 running, 71 sleeping CPU states: % user, % nice, % system, % interrupt, %idle Memory: Real: 46M/67M Virt: 66M/394M Free: 39M Theres more, but I don't want to bog down the whole list.
