The "clarification" has made the sentence almost impossible to
comprehend.  I looked at it since it appeard in my recently
prepared patch, glad I seen it.

Then Ceri pointed it out on the lists (which I noticed before
making this reply).

I don't mind the additional information you added, but please
use a comma in place of (...) and rewrite the sentence to a
comprehendable state.
