All devices supported by the trm driver were also covered by sym,
but the trm driver was provided by Tekram and it did support the
configuration of the bus mode by means of a BIOS menu (but these
BIOS values were also found and used by the sym driver).

As long as the sym driver remains in the tree, Tekram controllers
that work with trm will still be supported.

A deprecation note and release notes entry to the effect that sym
will attach to Tekram controllers (compiled into a custom kernel
or as module) should be sufficient.

I do still have some generic Symbios cards and also some Tekram
cards, but lack other required components required to perform any
tests with them ...
