I use xmcd and it allows you to configure it to use different CD-ROM's. If you grab the package (if you don't have Motif, this is the best option - Lesstif will work but some small things (that don't affect functionality) won't work. To configure from the package do the following: - install xmcd package - cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xmcd/config - sh config.sh - answer the questions :-) I use xmcd on my work machine (IDE CD-ROM) and at home (SCSI) and it works great on both of them. Another thing to try just to make sure everything works is try cdcontrol (in /usr/sbin) and see if it works. Read the man page to see how it works.
