FreebSD has Linux Emulation. So ideally it might support StarOffice.
You can install Staroffice from the ports too. 

But if you are using FreeBSD 4.0 I suggest you "invest" in a copy of FreeBSD
applixware 4.2

It takes 15 minutes to install

and

is compatiable with the standards such as doc, xls etc etc

I everyweek I constantly type in this mailing list maybe Applixware should do
some "cash for comments" deal with me.
