Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk I want to do some CDI development and authoring. I know that FreeBSD doesn't have much (anything) in this dept. but I thought some of you might be able to point me in the right direction as to what I need. Basically, I've got a dead Sun SS1+ attached to a phillips CDI emulator. The Sun runs some proprietry software which talks to the emulator and cdi player through serial ports (I think?) and SCSI. We can't afford a new Sun (and I'd like to bin the SS1+ !) and I don't think I can get the source to port this either. =( I have the CDI specs and most of the specs on the emulator so in theory *could* write this for FreeBSD. So, I either need a SunOS 4.1.1 emulator ?? (doubtful) or someone who knows more than me to suggest some way of going about this. Any hints or pointers ? I'd like to be able to do this on FreeBSD, but I haven't got the faintest idea how difficult it would be to write CDI's from FreeBSD.. If it's possible, then how long would it take to write this and has anyone started this sort of thing before ? Steve (stressed) -- Steve Roome - Vision Interactive Ltd.
