The following reply was made to PR ports/131124; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Warren Block <wblock@wonkity.com> To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, xelah-freebsd-pr@xelah.com Cc: Subject: Re: ports/131124: x11/xorg - New xorg 7.4 hangs until mouse is moved when AllowEmptyInput turned off Date: Fri, 22 Jul 2011 12:17:30 -0600 (MDT) Submitting this as a followup for future readers: The cure to this problem--a sticky or draggy mouse pointer--is to not use AllowEmptyInput Off. It was a temporary cure to a temporary problem, and causes problems of its own now. The right way to disable autodetection of devices by HAL: Option "AutoAddDevices" "Off" Another option is to build xorg-server with the HAL option disabled.
