Ok, here's my numbers for the buildworlds, I'm not sure how this looked on Release since I CVS'd it before doing a buildworld. Something changed from Release to Stable though since now it looks and acts right. I guess I'll see if I'm still getting the pauses with things, but compile times look good.. This is the UP 4.0 STABLE kernel: 3321.344u 721.170s 1:49:22.16 61.6% 1381+1461k 27364+287916io 1423pf+0w Here's the SMP 4.0 STABLE kernel: 3281.858u 1503.289s 1:15:40.96 105.3% 1260+1339k 27723+287900io 1437pf+0w Looks right to me, now check this out: > ./compile [05-May-2000 20:20:15 ] Starting compile: Cricket version 0.72 ( Sun Jan 23 23:54:35 PST 2000 ) [05-May-2000 20:20:23 ] Processed 1267 nodes (in 740 files) in 9 seconds. That was the thing that was taking over a minute before, what gives ?? WOW, I'm happy that it's working right, but I'd really like to know how/why the only thing I did was CVS the box up to stable, was there some strange problem with the Release SMP ? What do you think ?
