Sorry, I should have made it more clear. I was running a stock SMP kernel *config* which was what you asked. I'd already patched the if_bce.c to the version you're pointing to there, and then later upgraded to the -STABLE with it included. At least one of the HP boxes seems to have exactly the same bce network card in from my read of the specs. Does that one use the same driver but work fine?
