I've used Highpoint cards at work and home with success.  They are
doing a much better job at supporting FreeBSD so I figure they should
be mentioned.  I've got 2TB of RAID5 (4x500 SATA II on the 1740) the
OS is sitting on a gmirror pair of IDE's and there is another TB of
Firewire external storage.
