Those are the "saved" id. That's initially the same as the real id,
and you can always change any of the real/effective/saved id's to any
of those three values. As far as I can tell, it's got no other use
than allowing you to change the real and effective ids to it, so it's
basically bookeeping that's required by the POSIX id manipulation
APIs.
