To be perfectly honest I didn't consider this a shortcoming in the PH 
because this was the first time I had ever seen this situation.

I think that's fine; it's wrong for us to try to impose some semantics 
on the version number strings because we don't know what they are, a 
priori.

For the one case we saw here, with 6.0aa > 6.0z, dictionary comparison
gives the wrong answer.  That sucks, but we always have PORTEPOCH to
bail us out.

That's what pkg_version does now, or what it should be doing once I get 
things caught up.  IMHO the PH should allow this case, particularly 
since there's so many ports that seem to do this anyways.
