Go to http://www.Awfulhak.org/ppp.html for pointers to all the docs 
and the latest sources for ppp.

Your other post says you've got two serial ports and your modem's on 
cuaa1, so you should use /dev/cuaa1.  Using /dev/modem just obscures 
what's really going on.
