Thought of that :)
The initial Set was 16MB.  The second set that I replaced it with was 4MB.
I should have clarified in my original email

Hello,

If your machine only has 4 Megs of RAM, you will not be able to install
FreeBSD on it (it must have more than 8 Megs).

This may be the cause of the error messages you saw
