Well, not fixed...But...

There was an ISA slot on my MB that is bad.  Whenever a card is plugged into
it, the system halts with that error.  When the slot is open, the system
works fine.

So I'll just avoid that slot for now, and go order a new motherboard

Just recreated the kern.flp.  Put it into the drive.  It's definitely
booting off of the floppy.  This time, It didn't get into the bootstrap.
Just the -\|/-  then gave me the same error, with different numbers.
