Subject: Boot floppies will not boot on Olivetti Laptop

I've got the FreeBSD 3.2 CD distribution, which I've happily installed on a
production system.

I've been asked to teach a university course on Unix System Administration,
and obviously I'd like to base it on FreeBSD. For lecture purposes, I've got
an old Olivetti Echos p90S, which I'd like to run FreeBSD on - that way I've
got a live system to demonstrate in class.

The problem is, I can't get the boot floppies to work. When I boot from the
kernel floppy, It reports:

/boot.config: -P
Keyboard: no

BTX Loader 1.00 BTX Version is 1.01

then the twirling line, and then... nothing.

I could make some guesses as to the cause, but can't find it documented
anywhere. I've tried plugging a keyboard into the external KBD socket, but
to no avail.

I've still got 95 running on the machine at the moment, but that's going
once I've got FreeBSD to boot.

Any advice would be extremely welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Andy Holyer
