Hi all,

I'm trying to install debian 2.2r5 in an Acer Altos 600
machine, that has an aic-7899 controller. It freezes
during install, normally when trying to partition the
hard drive or checking for bad blocks. I made some
research in the internet and noticed that the aic-7xxx
module in linux have some problems.
I could install Windows NT4 in the same machine, so I
supose there is no hardware problem. AND I could
install the same debian distribution in another
identical machine, and that really annoyed me.

Any help? Maybe some bios tweaking?

Thanks in advance.
