I am trying to install FreeBSD on a laptop which has no cd-rom and no floppy. I have seen utilities like fbsdboot.exe and I have heard about setup.exe, both of which seem like they are supposed to be able to do some sort of install from dos. I have not had any luck with fbsdboot.exe ( it always complains about invalid kernel format [ I've tried fbsdboot -D c:\kernel\kernel < a fbsd3.2 kernel, and fbsdboot -D c:\kernel\boot.flp ] ), and I have been unable to find setup.exe. I also know a utility for netbooting computer's is available, but, I doubt it would work with a pcmcia ethetnet card ( although it is ne2000 compatible ), and I would really like to avoid having to set up a bootp server ( Although I would if I have to ), does anyone know if this would work? The Laptop is a Zenith Z-note 486/66 running dos 6.2. Dos is completly useless to me, so I would like to wipe the partition, and put FBSD in it's place. Any help would be appreciated.
