I'm sure there are a lot of you on the list > managing CISCO devices! tip may be OK minicom for sure, after removing all "modem commands" in it, so it won't "initialize modem" at startup. i'm using minicom for connecting to other device's console like edimax routers etc. for cisco it's the same.
