If you want a freebsd firewall that works well with comcast, try m0n0wall http://m0n0.ch/wall/ It is well supported worldwide, from home users to corporate environments. It's small enough to run from compact flash, hard drive, even a live ISO with floppy. AND it's as easy to setup as any linkysys home router.
