From sharp's information, it has Intel 440MX chipset, which is detected as 82443MX by FreeBSD and MS Windows2000. When acpi_load is set, this machine stalls after acpi0 is detected. When acpi_load is unset and hint.acpi.0.disable=1, it hangs up after uhci0 is detected. I tried yesterday's snapshot built by myself, and the result is exactly same. And I also tried to upgrade from 4.7-STABLE. Buildworld, buildkernel and installkernel succeeded. But current-kernel cannot boot when /boot/device.hints is created from 4.7-STABLE's kernel configuration. Does this mean that some kind of hardware cannot use 5.0 world? If no, what should I check? Thanks in advance. Here's dmesg.boot of 4.7-STABLE: Copyright (c) 1992-2002 The FreeBSD Project.
